Regional Economic Development Strategy

 

The Southeastern Connecticut Region, which includes the 21 municipalities within New London County, has  prepared a new Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region.

 

This document will replace the 2004 CEDS and its 2006 updates and project lists. That information is available by clicking on the box on the right side of this page.

 

The first step in the 2011 project was to prepare an Data Update of the current economy in SouthEastern CT, using current census, labor and other information.  seCTer, with funding provided by the State of CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), contracted preparation of this report to the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC).  Their complete report, which is in Appendix of complete CEDS  may be read here.

 

 

After a Public Comment Period that ended on November 12, the CEDS was adopted by the CEDS Strategy Committee, seCTer, and the Southeastern CT Council of Governments for submission to the Economic Development Administration (EDA). The appendix for CEDS can be downloaded above.
