The Thames Maritime Coalition is a consortium of companies, support ogranizations, government agencies and eduational institutions that comprise the marine industry in the area. This group meets regularly to address such issues as business climate, workforce development, legislation, incentive programs, technology transfer, education and training as well as specialized industry needs.

 

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) is a member of the Coalition.   Among other things, NOAA monitors environmental issues including the Right Whale protection program and manages charting coastal waters including those of Long Island Sound and the Thames River. 

The Coalition also works with the US Coast Guard with issues of Port Security for the Port of New London/Groton and the Thames River area.

Hours of operation:
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Meetings of the Thames Maritime Coalition are held at the seCTer office at 1:00pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
