Economic Development

seCTer is designated by federal, state, and local authorities as the Economic Development Organization of the Economic Development District of southeastern Connecticut. We support regional and municipal economic development in a variety of ways.

Data

We have a number of data tools that can help our member municipalities put together compelling cases for interested developers, site finders, grant makers and businesses.

Grant Support

Our staff provide grant writing assistance for our member municipalities as they tell the region’s story through grant proposals to the Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Webinar: EDA American Recovery Plan Act Funding Opportunities for CT Economic Development Districts and Council of Governments

In this webinar, Connecticut’s Economic Development Districts (EDD) and Councils of Governments (COG) meet with the state’s EDA Representative to discuss the EDA’s American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

Sitefinding

In order to support business retention, expansion, and attraction, seCTer connects developers and businesses with available sites in our region. We also provide and analyze data regarding the site being considered, including demographics, traffic, business potential and employment information. seCTer also develops the partnerships with applicable municipal, state and lending resources needed to further support decision making. For our municipal partners, seCTer lists their available sites for free on AdvanceCT’s SiteFinder®, Connecticut’s most comprehensive online database of available commercial properties specific to the southeastern CT EDD.
